Milk Studios: Gareth Pugh

(Gallery attached to DVF with animal masks)

I went to see the pre-video Gareth Pugh did for Milk Studios yesterday. It was a nice walk to the Meatpacking District from my house. While I was taking my time with each video (it was a four large screens that had projectors playing all the videos simultaneously; put together to look like a large cube) I couldn't help but notice Gareth Pugh in front of me all of a sudden when I was at the last video. This was the first time I have seen a designer in New York that I really admired. I was in such shock. I wasn't sure if he would even have enough time to even come down because of his show in Paris.

It was a cool moment for me.

Project Runway: Season 5 Episode 2

(Natalie Portman in one of her shoe designs for Te Cesan.)

I loved seeing Natalie Portman as a guest judge on the second episode of this season's PR. I'm glad they choose Suede's outfit... only because it was a lot more thought out and innovative. I still did really love how Kenley's dress had a high neck. It was a close call between the two.

I hate it when I see designers on that show go into the next round because they choose to do something "safe." If you want something safe, go try and design for the GAP. We are looking for the next best designer in America... not someone that makes something that belongs in a suburban mall.
