Been crazy... my very close friend Yorka had her baby Ethan in December, so I have been helping out with that and been busy with work and life, like usual.  Having some upcoming things come up so hopefully they will pan out.  Until then, I hope all is well with everybody.

These are from the Replica collection.  It looks like it's one piece of thin grey velvet was placed completely over the shoe, but knowing MMM, it's a lot more complicated than that.

The Saturday before the storm, I took a unexpected trip to wd-50. Thank you for your lovely hospitality wd-50 team.

Before the power went out in lower Manhattan, Anne and I went to visit our friends at NoMad for a cocktail.  Will was very clever to make us some hurricanes during the hurricane.

Taking a Trip: Dry Martini in Barcelona

The friendliest staff in all the cities that I visited in my trip to Europe was definitely at Dry Martini.  Paco, which has been bartending at Dry Martini since it opened in 1978, is assisting me with some places for me to check out in Barcelona here.

I know this seems ridiculous to some people, but the thing I was most excited about eating in Paris was the butter.  I swear... it does not taste like anything here in the states. I tried Jean-Yves Bordier and Le Beurre Bordier.  It does make their pastries there taste so much more different.  You just have to try it.  I have gone to plenty of specialty stores here in NYC after Paris and it is no where near the same.

I have been swamped lately... work, work, work... then traveling.  Trying to catch up with people, trying to check out all these places that my friends open.  I don't have many photos from my long trip to France and Spain.  Hopefully I can post some soon when my friend sends me all the photos.  I just finally got photos from my trip to Dominican Republic.  I will head to California in about two weeks.  I'm going to be there for an extended amount of time.  I think (and hope) that will be my last flight of the year.  I'm getting really exhausted from traveling so much.  I don't know how people can handle this for a living.  Living out of a suitcase isn't as fun as it seems.  Especially when you are constantly running around everywhere.  I think right now I just want to feel grounded.  Anyways, I will eventually do a post about what I pack on my trips.  I'm really great at minimizing, which everybody is so surprised by.  I hate checking in my baggage, so I always have a carry on.
