We haven't been out together in 4 years.  All of us actually went to L.A. for Jackie's bday.  It was a little short trip that only lasted the weekend.

I love this dress. I always wear it when I'm not suppose to and I always look overdressed. Oh well.

What to Wear Daily: Guggenheim

My family has been visiting me for the past few weeks. I miss my family a lot. I'm part of a large family and we are all really close, I was so happy to see them. First up was my younger sister Cindy. This isn't the best picture (actually, you can't even see her and I don't look so great either) but it was the only one we took together. My family isn't big with taking pictures together for some reason. The jacket she is wearing is her first major designer purchase. It was one of her goals while she was here and of course I was there to help her make the decision. This sweater has been a staple in my uniform lately... any plain shirt and a over sized necklace and jeans.

Cindy wanted to check out the Guggenheim Museum. Not so much the artwork, but the actual building. We also went to the Whitney Museum that day as well. They had some great contemporary and not so great work there, it was fun to see.

On a side note... It's weird to be in NYC and say the word "beanie" and no one knows what I'm talking about. Is it just a West Coast thing? I'm known to lose beanies too. Once I bought a black one at a hat boutique near my house and 4 hours later it was gone... what a waste! I swear I try so hard not to lose things and it just happens anyways...

These are my boots from a while back. I love them... they are amazing and comfy but sometimes I feel like I'm too close to outer space... haha (but always in a good way, I swear!)

I still haven't gotten all my stuff shipped to NYC, yet. It's though though, 'cause I wanna buy everything I already don't have here yet... wish me luck!

This pale green sweater/jacket is the only thing I purchased for myself in NYC. I went there looking for very specific designers when I was shopping. I actually told myself that I didn't want to go crazy like I did before on my last trip (5 pairs of shoes, 2 jackets and tons of dress, shirts and shoes + all the stuff I bought for everyone else). So, I have this philosophy when I shop. If I notice myself walking around and thinking about the piece so much, enough to want to go back and grab it, then it was meant to be. I found this in a completely different area too. So when I tried on this Rick Owens Lillies sweater, there was such a huge smile on my face. I have always wanted to own something of his, but his stuff is either way to out there and way too expensive. Since, I was on vacation, I figure that I could splurge on something. Since, everyone has been effected by the economy, including me... I shouldn't be spending money like they grow on trees. Also, I wouldn't want to be in any crazy credit debt either. I buy all my clothes with cash, so I won't feel so bad later.
